Brunate – tradition, creativity and uniqueness

Tradition as a principle, creativity as strength and uniqueness in quality and form - these are the outstanding characteristics of the brand Brunate.

In 1926, experts in shoe design and production, Vittorio Galli and Giovanni Volonte, started the Brunate brand with the aim of producing high-quality children's footwear. Only in the 80s did Brunate start producing exclusive shoes for women. Today, after almost a century of development, Brunate is synonymous with Italian quality of footwear.

Brunate design

The first step in making a Brunate shoe is the design. Stylists and modelers work closely together during this phase. New surfaces are designed, sketches are drawn and new materials, heels, soles and accessories are sought. Prototypes are made and tested, and only after long-term testing can the new model be sent to production.

The next step in production is the cutting of leather, which can be done in three ways: by hand with a template, by hand with a drill or with the help of CAD technology and a cutting machine. Careful selection of materials and employee skills are particularly important at this stage.

Sewing

During this stage several parts are joined to form the upper part of the shoe. For some models, the upper part of the shoe consists of as many as 50 individual parts. The most important steps during sewing are joining the leather parts, sewing the lining, folding the border, ironing the material and hand or machine sewing.

Manufacturing and finishing

Production continues on the line after the upper part is completed. The upper is attached to the sole and passes through an oven where the upper and binding materials are dried. The binding phase is prepared by polishing the leather on the edge of the upper part and attaching the sole and heel. Maximum adhesion of the binder is guaranteed by using a press. This is followed by the final phase, during which the leather is ironed, treated with special creams and cleaned of possible production residues.
